We had this church event last evening so my family and some friends went there for dinner. Picnics. :-) I made crab cream croquettes for the picnic :>

crepe and cream puffs, 20/11

Crepe! With maple syrup and vanilla ice-cream. I'm so happy I managed to flip the crepe over without breaking it! It was nice eaten warm with ice-cream.

Cream Puffs :> I really really wish I could make good cream puffs, but I REALLY REALLY CAN'T. The choux pastry was okay, it was quite puffy. I sprinkled water over the baking sheet before baking so it would be sort of steamy in the oven and make the pastry puff up more. I really can't get the cream right. Although, it was custard, not cream; and I realised that only after making it. Anyway the custard was bad T_T I can never get the custard right. I would really like to make nice cream for cream puffs. Hope I can find a recipe.

Tomato rice egg rolls! :-) For dinner today. Cooking the egg was fun. Had to make it cover the entire frying pan so it was almost paper-thin.

Strawberry & Mango Cheesecake! :-) I made this for dessert when my relatives came over for lunch today. It was quite nice, except the cheesecake melted quickly. It's because I didn't whip the thickened cream long enough I think. I use an electric mixer and the recipe called for only 1/4 cup of the cream, so the mixer couldn't reach the cream! Because the bowl is too big. The paddle attachment couldn't reach it. I don't have a hand mixer though :I Anyway, I hope I can make syrup to drizzle over it next time. And some mint leaves to decorate :-)

Japanese Curry over soumen (really thin noodles)! We had this for dinner one of the days last week. Usually we eat curry with rice but I thought it would be interesting to try with noodles. I never knew curry could be eaten with noodles haha I'm so stupid. I wish I knew how to make curry from scratch! But I can't, haha. So we use those packet ones. We use Golden Curry.

Honey sesame meatballs. Umm well beefballs. The beef was bland though; should have seasoned the beef. )-: The taste of the sesame was strong.

Baked-Potato Eggs & Fettucini

Baked-Potato Eggs. I tried making them for dinner last week. We ate them with pizza :D

Fettuccine with Bacon and Cream! I cooked it for lunch today. It was okay except the cream was a bit bland; I should have added salt. The recipe actually called for ham (prosciutto), but I thought bacon would be tastier. I used back bacon, because it's less fattening.

Shiroi Koibito...?

Today I tried making Shiroi Koibito (White Chocolate Cream Biscuits), but without the white chocolate orz orz So only the biscuit. Because I didn't have enough time. )-:
And I had no templates and my piping sucks. The shapes are so irregular..! >:

I don't know if any of you are familiar with Shiroi Koibito but it's quite famous. It's from Hokkaido. It consists of white chocolate sandwiched between two langue de chat or crisp, thin biscuits.
And uhh this is pretty lame of me but I haven't eaten Shiroi Koibito before orz
I hope I can try them sometime :-)

It was so fun~
Grilled Shishamo (Smelt) with miso sauce. I added a few random things with miso paste to make it. I got the shishamo from the Hokkaido fair over at taka! Did anyone go? :>

Stir-fried mixed veggies: cabbage, snow peas, onion, capsicum, ginger, garlic, bean sprouts and carrots.

Chicken and vegetable soup. It contains carrots, bamboo shoots and pumpkin. The pumpkin was sweet. :)

Uhh okaaaay this is embarrassing lol. Umm this is from super long ago. It's ginger pork. I overcooked it so it was a bit hard )-:

This is rice with sweet soy chicken and egg. I made it for dinner one time because now that exams are over I get to cook dinner sometimes!! :D :D

Souffle cheesecake. I really don't know if they were okay or not because I haven't eaten souffle before so I don't know how they are actually supposed to taste. I'm sure it was a failure orz

Chocolate cake that I baked for my sister's birthday. First time baking a chocolate cake.

My mum said to save money on cake because my parents already bought like 3 cakes for 3 celebrations for my sister already. Anyway. It was a failure.

Green tea tiramisu! It was okay but the sake taste was stronger than the green tea taste haha
